Session 1: The CIO - Another Year, Another Job Description
Moderator: John Crowley, CIO at Fidelity National Financial
Studies indicate that as much as 51 percent of all employees now perform technology work. Considering that only 4 percent of workers are members of corporate IT staff, that means that a LOT of technology is being managed and delivered by people outside of the CIO’s team. What does this mean? What does it suggest about the role of the CIO going forward?

Session 2: The Way Forward: A CIO Conversation

Session 3: Cloud Spend – Controlling the Cost of Frictionless Scalability
Moderator: Scott Crowder, CIO at BMC
Gartner states that in 2022, “more than $1.3T in enterprise IT spending is at stake from the shift to the cloud, growing to almost $1.8T in 2025.” Yet even after years of migration to the cloud, Gartner anticipates that only 13% of eventual cloud adoption has occurred.1 Clearly, the migration to the cloud is both an enormous task and something that companies are finding challenging to execute. Chief amongst these challenges has been the slow pace of evolution of the architectures and governance that ensure cloud is not only productive but also cost effective as it is deployed. Join this session to learn and share the most cutting-edge approaches to cloud migration and managing the “saw tooth” effect on your overall cloud spend.

Session 4: Digital TBM is Business Driven
Moderator: Chris Lindner, CIO at Apptio
The need for ITFM (IT Financial Management) are becoming increasingly self-evident. Fueled by the increasing awareness that companies need MORE technology investment (not less) on their primary strategic initiatives, CIO’s and other senior IT leaders are being challenged to become leaders in IT Finance every bit as much as they are required to drive technology evolution. That is a lot to ask from an organization whose success or failure has traditionally been tied to technical acumen rather than financial savvy. So how can CIO’s build the skills, processes, and capabilities to infuse financial insights into the day-to-day operation of their technology environments? Will ITFM become a core component of the IT operating model? Can rank-and-file technologist adapt to the challenge of finances and be able to operate beyond budget variances and technology business cases?

Session 5: IT Workforce – Navigating the New Super-Cycles of Hiring and Retention
Moderator: Bob Toupin, CIO at Jackson Healthcare
Market conditions for hiring and retention of technology talent has rarely, if ever, been so uncertain. The Great Resignation has left many IT leaders to grapple with higher wages, lack of candidates, and uncertain outlooks for retention within their current workforce. In this session, you will discuss employees’ new expectations of the workplace and your peers’ best practices for maintaining a stable workforce within the “new normal” conditions.
3:30 pm - 4:15 pm
Session 6: IT Value - Measuring Technology’s Impact on Revenue, Profitability, and Risk
Moderator: Rhonda Gass, CIO at Stanley Black and Decker
When we think about value, we may think initially about a cost-to-benefit analysis. Is value always only tied to monetary means or is it tied to other measures such as productivity and opportunity costs? In this session, we’ll discuss the meaning of value and how the C-suite views IT value, how the view of the C-suite impacts IT on financial metrics, and the relationship of IT that drives board initiatives.

Moderator: Eldon Sprickerhoff, Founder & Chief Innovation Officer at eSentire
Cybersecurity continues to be a primary topic of discussion and escalating concern for enterprises. Between new attack vectors and tactics, heightened regulatory compliance requirements, and increased board insight demands, there's never been more of a need to increase resiliency and prepare for the eventual incident.

This panel will detail these concerns and will provide both insight and further details into the ways you can proactively address them.
10:30 am - 11:15 am
Session 8: Modernization – Surviving in the Post-Incrementalism Era
Moderator: Sherry Jordan, Senior Director of Business Services at Blackbaud
Technology obsolescence was traditionally solved through “incrementalism” where periodic revisions to existing solutions were carefully deployed over long periods of time. Increasingly, technologies reaching obsolescence are being sunset entirely and replaced with new, more modern solutions. With this “modernization” approach fully underway, what are your current investment priorities as the technology investor? Join this session to share with your peers the primary IT components you are replacing with foundationally new solutions as you move into the next stage of your digital transformation and how those relate back to expectations for your current and future tech stack.
